Anime Card Battles is a deck-building and card-battling experience with an anime-flavored twist. With a focus on card pack opening, your main objective is to collect the rarest cards in the game. Once you have the desired deck built, you can take it to the Ranked mode to see how they fare. With its unique take on the classic card battle formula, jumping into Ranked can be a little daunting.

To help you get started with online matches, we’ve created a complete guide on Ranked mode in Anime Card Battles.

Queuing and Battling

Queuing is the first phase of starting a Ranked match. You can access the queue by clicking the Ranked icon on the left and pressing the Queue button. It requires you to have a premade deck ready to go. If not, it will prompt you to access your cards and create one.

There are two parts to creating a deck for the Ranked Mode: an Active deck and a Defense deck. The Active deck is your primary party, which will be used while battling other players. You will gain a resource called Elo for winning while losing will deduct some of your Elo reserves.

Battles trigger automatically, and the winner is decided by the stats of their cards. A card with high stats and more potent abilities will always win the battle. This means that the winner is effectively decided during deck-building.

Players are ranked on a leaderboard based on their Elo, which determines the rewards they get each season.

Defense Deck

Since battles in Anime Card Battles are passive, they often involve decks that belong to players who are not currently active. Not only does this diversify matchmaking, but it also helps ensure players always have access to an opponent’s deck to battle against.

The primary role of a Defense Deck is to act as a proxy deck for a currently inactive player. This consists of two cards, which prevent you from losing Elo to a Ranked Battle while you are AFK. If your Defense Deck wins against an opponent, you will gain Elo. Conversely, the deck’s failure will result in losing Elo.
