Demon Blade's core gameplay loop is to explore the world, accept missions from quest-giving NPCs, and complete them to earn XP. Quests usually involve killing enemies or an area boss, and upon completion, you will also be rewarded with materials and in-game cash.

Areas in the vast open world are gated by levels, with certain locations requiring you to be a few hundred levels at least. If you are not above the specified level threshold, quest-givers will simply not allow you to accept their missions. This makes the game’s progression fine-tuned, always presenting a challenge but never quite overwhelming you.

The title’s combat system forms the beating heart of the gameplay loop. It features various ways to fight in the form of Breath Scrolls and Blood Demon Arts. Both of these are combat archetypes, with several subtypes to try out. Certain abilities are much better than others and naturally, cost a lot more cash to acquire.

Faction selection: One of the first decisions to make in the game is the faction selection, which affects which players become your enemies during PvP. You can opt to join the Demons or become a Demon Slayer. This choice isn’t permanent and can be changed later on.
Race selection: Races are passive buffs applied to the player’s avatar, with little else changing mechanically. Some of these boosts can be quite powerful, which makes rolling for a better race more desirable. Races are tiered as well, with the rarest options being the ideal ones for the strongest builds. Incidentally, getting the Mythical Race is also incredibly difficult.
Basic combat: Demon Blade features a simplistic combat system with a focus on combo attacks. Use your Normal Attacks to perform basic attacks and create combos by mixing them with Special Moves. The game also features a Devil May Cry-style ranking feature, where the flashier your combos, the higher your combo ranking will be.
Combat abilities: Breath, Demon, and Gun are the three combat technique types in the game. Each of these offers a different flavor of combat, and once purchased, you will have permanent access to them. They can be activated using the corresponding number key.
Level-ups: Gaining a sufficient amount of XP gives you a level-up and skill points to invest into a particular stat. You can boost one of five stats: Melee, Defense, Breath, Demon, and Gun. The more skill points you invest into a stat, the better the corresponding abilities become, making them significant for creating a strong build.
Mastery: Each technique in the game has a Mastery level tied to it. The more you use the technique, the more Mastery XP you gain, improving your proficiency with the style. Every technique has a few moves locked behind Mastery progression, incentivizing its usage to maximize its potential.
Open-world exploration: Exploring the open world is a major part of the game, as that is how you can find skill teachers, quest-givers, enemy farm locations, etc. Because of the sheer size of the world, you can receive a free Paraglider from the Vehicle Vendor in every city. Use it to cross large distances in no time.
Quests: Quests are the fundamental pillars upon which the core gameplay loop of this title rests. Your objectives are defined by quests and you gain more XP and rewards by completing them. So, the best way to approach this title is to find and complete as many quest-givers that you qualify for. That way, your progression will remain natural and you will be able to access new areas in a timely manner.
