Derelict Solar Update: New Boss, Equipment sets, and more

Derelict is a Dark Souls-inspired Roblox experience in which you must prevail against all odds in the face of adversity. Its latest update, dubbed the Solar Update, acts as an expansion of the game’s framework. The new areas, enemy types, equipment, and more broaden the title’s horizons more than ever before. Moreover, certain balance adjustments and quality-of-life improvements have been made to improve the overall experience.

This article goes over every new addition to the game in the Solar Update, added to Derelict on July 10, 2024.

Everything new in the Solar Update for Derelict

New Areas, Enemies, Bosses, and Quest Lines

The Solar Update introduces the Veiled Cathedral and Sanctuary areas, giving players free rein to explore every inch of the new playable section. These areas can be accessed by completing a quest line that leads the player into the Cathedral.

As is tradition with Souls-likes, new areas are teeming with threats at every corner. Encounter new enemy types, like Solar Knights and Priests, who prowl the halls of the Cathedral. Defeat them to progress and find the area boss in The Chamber of Awakening dungeon: The Veiled Paladin.

A beginner’s quest line has been introduced as well, which walks newcomers through the Bandit Cave and the tutorial at the start. It is a great way for new players to understand the game's mechanics instead of having to discern the controls on the go.

A host of brand-new equipment, item types, and spells have been introduced with the Derelict update. The weapons, tomes, and weapon arts are all listed below:

Balance changes, bug fixes, and other updates

Various balance updates were made to improve the overall game balance and preserve the challenging but fair nature of the game. Additionally, a few quality-of-life improvements have been implemented to ensure a smoother and more enjoyable experience.

Here’s a list of all balance changes introduced with the Solar update:

Added hyper armor for moves with lengthy telegraphs.
Elite-level enemies spawn with a random modifier.
Maximum Insight level increased from 60 to 65.
Maximum Upgrade level increased from G15 to G20.
Invaders’ power scales based on the player’s Insight.
Raid mode allows up to three retries. If the player dies too many times, they will spawn outside the mode, next to the last bonsai.
Removed minimum level requirement for upgrading.
Brawnroot spawn rate adjusted to 10%.
Tree and ore power requirements have been removed.
Equipment requirements for axes and pickaxes have been changed.
Daily rewards adjusted from 16, 30, and 48 to 20, 40, and 60, respectively.
Adjusted boss enemy AI to be more aggressive.
Statistics show the number of times the player has completed raids.
Camera Shake can be toggled on and off.
Altered the Lock-on UI.
Improved visibility for Dungeon Exit objects.
The order of Bonsai locations has been adjusted.
Earth Spikes attack hitbox has been adjusted for ground detection.
Boss HP is only visible during active combat.
Implemented a rebound that teleports the player back when their move is canceled while in the middle of an attack.

The Solar update squashed numerous bugs, as detailed below:

Fixed an issue where crowns would not drop on death.
Fixed overlapped display issue for crowns and stones on mobile.
Fixed the sound effect for ore shattering.
Addressed the malfunctioning Poison Maze and music issue
Fixed a bug that caused an incorrect atmosphere to load after invasions and dungeon completions
Party members can now be scrolled through.
Fixed various minor bugs.
