Dig It: A beginner’s guide

Dig It is a Roblox experience where you scavenge valuables from the overworld and sell them for cash. Set on a coastal island, this game lets you use your trusty shovel to dig out treasures. Your objective is to earn as much money as possible and become the richest person on the island.

This guide covers how you can get started with Dig It and begin your journey to accrue more wealth than anyone else on the island.

Getting started with Dig It

Dig It has you sift through the dedicated search area to randomly receive different sellable items. These items range from trash to treasure and you can receive them based on their pull chance and your shovel stats. The more valuable an item, the better price it fetches at the vendor’s.

At the beginning of the game, you will start with a basic shovel with low stats that is only enough to produce low-rarity items. Over time, as you continue to sell your finds, you will be able to purchase better shovels that improve your odds of finding better treasure. This system is reminiscent of the fishing game, Fisch, where your rod stats dictate the rarity of fish you find.

The game also includes a database of items to find, much like the bestiary from the aforementioned fishing game. Aim to complete the item database in the title’s myriad locations by visiting the different islands and digging out every inch of these areas.

Gameplay mechanics

Digging: Digging is the main gameplay element around which the entire experience centers. You can dig at the dedicated areas by pressing the Left Mouse Button, which triggers a minigame where you must keep the cursor within the bar. Keeping the cursor within the confines of the bar fills up the progress meter and once it is filled up, you will receive the item. The rarity of the item is directly dependent on the stats of your shovel.
Shovel: The shovel is the main tool you will use to scrounge for items in this experience. Each shovel comes with a myriad of stats that dictate the ease of digging along with the item it can dig out. These stats include Strength, Stamina Loss, Loot Luck, Control, Stability, and Precision. You can buy different types of shovels on each of the six islands.
Locations: The game includes six unique locations that you can reach using a boat. You may also use mounts while in these areas to make traversal simpler. Each island has a set of items specific to it, which can be viewed in the database. The database starts empty and continues to fill up as you dig out valuables.
EXP and levels: You can earn EXP by digging for valuables while on an island or completing quests. The more EXP you gain, the faster you level up. As you level up, you will be able to wield advanced shovels that let you find better items and, in turn, fetch a pretty penny at the vendors’.
Cash: The main currency of the game is Doolars, mainly earned through selling your inventory. You may also receive them as a reward for quest completion in addition to EXP.
Inventory and backpacks: Your default inventory is limited, but you can expand it by purchasing backpacks. The backpacks available at the in-game shop can be bought for Doolars and increase your carrying capacity by a notable margin. Expensive backpacks increase your capacity a lot more, with the premium-only Infinity Backpack giving you unlimited inventory space.
Premium shop: The premium shop includes quality-of-life improvements in the form of game passes and Doolar packs. Once purchased using Robux, the game passes will be a part of your game permanently.
