At its core, Doomspire Defense functions similarly to other tower defense-style games. Use your Towers to clear enemy waves and finish a stage to earn Bricks. You can then use these Bricks to get more Towers with better offensive prowess, allowing you to progress to advanced stages. This forms the core gameplay loop around which much of the experience functions.

Each stage has you defend your home base against various enemy mobs. Use the cash allotted to you at the beginning of a match to place your Towers along their path. As they defeat foes, you will receive more cash to upgrade them with. Continue to place your units and upgrade them until every wave is defeated.

If an enemy happens to sneak past your line of defense, they will deal damage to your home base. Stronger foes cause more harm to your base and if its HP pool is reduced to zero, the match will end and you will lose. The idea is to push the waves back as much as possible through strategic Tower placement.

Gameplay Mechanics

  • Game modes: The title has a number of modes, giving you several ways to experience the tower-defending gameplay style. Broadly categorized into Main mode and Side mode, these options act as guardrails, giving you a clear idea of the play order. More difficult stages reward you with more Bricks, allowing you to purchase the best Towers in the game.
  • Main mode: The main content of the game is in the Main mode. Stages featured in this mode will give you a proper tutorial on playing the game, giving you a tour of its mechanics. It is recommended to play the levels included in this game mode.
  • Side mode: Side modes are where the end-game content truly shines. With event-exclusive stages and bonus battles, it is best experienced at high levels with a powerful arsenal of Towers.
  • Towers: Towers are the units you place on the map after starting a stage. Each one has an associated cost that must be paid using cash to place them on the field. The better a Tower’s offensive prowess, the costlier they are. A large part of the game is to manage your resources to push back the swathes of foes. Note that you can only have five Tower types at a time.
  • Tower Placement: If you have the cash for it, you can place a particular Tower type over 10 times. This can be a great strategy when tackling levels with over 15 waves, giving you plenty of time to earn cash and quickly upgrade your Towers to the maximum.
  • Bricks: Bricks are the game's main currency and can be used to purchase new Towers from the in-game Shop. You can get them through stage completion or buy them using Robux.

  • Enemies: Each enemy in the game has a health pool and a speed level. Typically, faster enemies have a smaller health pool to compensate for the added difficulty. Certain boss-level enemies are also slower than common mobs, giving your Towers more time to attack and deplete their massive HP count.
  • Enemy Types: There are various enemy types in the game, each of which serves a specific purpose in the stage. The number of enemies you face at a time corresponds to their strength in the game, which means that weaker enemies are plentiful, while stronger ones are sparse.
