One of the primary ways of getting a new dragon is by hatching an egg. The Shadow Egg is among the rarest and most difficult to obtain, considering it only has a small chance to spawn in the Prehistoric world.

Obtaining the Shadow Egg in Dragon Adventures

Getting a Shadow Egg is a somewhat complicated process that is heavily reliant on RNG. At most, each player has up to a 6% chance to obtain the coveted dark egg through Shadow Point accumulation. It is currently impossible to raise your egg spawn rate above 6%.

Players can get Shadow Points by donating food at the Shadow Altar. Each food item has a specific Shadow Point value and giving eatable items away en masse is the easiest way to amass points. Note that the Shadow Egg will only start spawning for you if you have 1,000 or more Shadow Points and remain in the Prehistoric World.

Shadow Points are reset each week on Friday, which may force you to start over. So, if you have a stockpile of food items, it may be best to continue hoarding until you can comfortably get over 1,000 points. It’s also worth remembering that claiming a Shadow Egg does not reset your egg spawn rate.

• 1,000-9,999 Shadow Points: 1%
• 10,000-24,999 Shadow Points: 2%

When a Shadow Egg spawns for you, you will see a server notification pop up informing you of the same. This is to prompt you to search for the egg, which remains on the map until you pick it up, even if you leave the experience. Furthermore, additional Shadow Eggs will not spawn until all existing ones on the map have been collected.

The points you collect are reflected on the leaderboard and contribute to the Global Offerings milestones. With each milestone completed, players get access to Shadow Eggs in random spawn points. This milestone system has no end date, so players have access to a theoretically infinite number of Shadow Eggs.

Shadow Eggs can be hatched to obtain any of the five different dragons. These dragons are known for their violent or destructive nature and share a blue, black, and purple color scheme. Each of the five tribute dragons has a different hatch rate, which makes some of them rarer than others.
