Boosting is an action where you give your partner a major boost using the R key, allowing them to cross a massive gap. This action is useful when faced with a ledge or platform that cannot be accessed with a normal jump.

You can grab your partner from an elevated position by hitting the G button next to a ledge. Your avatar will crouch and hold its hand out, grabbing the other player and pulling them up when they jump. You can also do this to catch partners after they have boosted you across a large gap, enabling them to clear it without requiring a boost themselves.

Lastly, holding hands is for puzzles where, without the action, both players will fall to their deaths and be sent back to the checkpoint. This action, usable with the F key, does impede movement by a noticeable degree, which is why it isn’t needed in many platforming sections.
