KJ Arena is an anime-inspired arena brawler experience where you take control of a super-powered character and engage in destructive fights. This game emphasizes mastery over everything, ensuring that all characters are on an even playing field and that skill prevails each time. Combine normal attacks with special moves to deal hefty damage to the opponent and gain the upper hand in battle.
Here’s what you need to know to get started in KJ Arena.
Getting started in KJ Arena
Overview
The main gameplay mode of KJ Arena is a melee battle royale-style fighting map, where you can engage in battles with other players. Pick your opponent and take them on in a fight until one of you loses and is sent back to the spawn point. There is no penalty associated with a loss, so you can jump right back into the fray after being taken down.
Perform complex combo strings using normal attacks and skills to massively diminish the opponent’s HP. Use your skills judiciously, as they go on a brief cooldown each time they are used. Seek out your opportunity and make the most of it as you take chunks off the enemy’s health bar.
Defeating an opponent adds a point to your total Kill Count, the primary currency of the game. Use them at the in-game shop to purchase Auras, which are unique cosmetic-only effects that showcase your adeptness at battle.
Note that the game is currently in beta and several gameplay elements may change as the development on it progresses.

Gameplay Mechanics
- Combat: Use your Left Mouse Button to perform a four-hit normal attack combo. Each character has unique properties assigned to their normal attacks, which is what makes them so distinct from each other. It’s important to understand which moves are suited as combo starters and which can be used to extend them.
- Special Moves: Special moves can be performed by pressing the corresponding number keys. These are powerful skills that deal more damage per hit than normal attack strings but can be difficult to use without a normal attack string.
- Awakening: Using skills fills up your Awaken gauge, which lets you access a more powerful version of a character’s basic moveset. Once Awakened, the gauge will continuously deplete, giving you limited time with the powered-up moveset. This makes the super mode suited for finishing the opponent off in style.
- Playable Characters: KJ Arena currently features four characters, two of which are free to use. The characters available for free have a complete moveset and skills ready to be used. The other two are premium-only and currently in early access, with fewer skills and incomplete combo strings. Once work on these early access characters is finished, they will be released for free.
- Auras: You can purchase a cosmetic effect called Aura using Kills accrued in battle. Use your Kill Count for a fancy new Aura that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also a symbol of your skill in the game.
