Merge for Diamonds, as the title suggests, is a game about merging blocks to get the diamond block. This experience features Minecraft-style blocks, which can be mashed together to create increasingly valuable combinations. You can earn Cash and Gems by merging blocks, which can then be used to purchase pets and upgrades.

Merge for Diamonds is a mixture of two popular concepts: clicker-style games and the popular mobile game 2048. Each block in the game has an assigned type and Cash value, which can only merge with another block of identical type. Combining them unlocks a new block type, which has an increased value.

This block-merging gameplay that forms the structural foundation of this experience stands on a few key pillars. You can purchase upgrades using Cash and get Pets using Gems, both of which are essential for your in-game financial growth. While Cash helps you clear the field after it gets filled with blocks, equipping pets multiplies the rate at which you earn Cash and Gems.

The game also includes a minor customization system and a short obstacle course to add a touch of variety to its gameplay loop.

Block-Merging: The central mechanic of the game requires you to pick up a block and merge it with another of the same kind. Stand next to a block to pick it up and then walk into another to fuse them together, creating a new type of block. Continue merging blocks until you get to the Diamond.
Pets: Gems earned by merging blocks and picking up Gem drops can be used to hatch eggs for Pets. You can opt for different egg types based on how many Gems you have since the costlier the egg, the more powerful Pet you'll get. Equipping Pets applies a multiplier to your Cash and Gem earn rate.
Upgrades: Use Cash to purchase various upgrades that speed up the block-merging gameplay loop. The Spawn Tier upgrade is the most essential one, which changes the tier of the blocks that spawn every once in a while. The more you get this upgrade, the quicker you can work your way towards the highest tier of blocks. Other upgrades include Lucky Merges, Cash Rate, Auto Merge, Max Blocks, and Spawn Rate.
Potions: Potions can be used to get temporary bonuses to your Cash, Block Spawn rate, and the maximum number of blocks on the field. These bonuses only last a minute and they require hundreds of Gems, which usually makes them not worth the cost. Their usefulness is at its highest during mid to late-game stages when you have trillions in the bank and the boost speeds up the gameplay significantly.
Block Rain: Upon merging 25 blocks, you will receive a Block Rain bonus. This causes the game to spawn a large number of blocks directly onto the field, giving you a chance to earn a massive amount of money. Time its activation with other bonuses to make the maximum amount of money possible.
Premium Features: You can purchase additional blocks or gamepasses like Auto Click, Auto Merge, 2x Cash, and 3x Gems to make the game easy. These features cost Robux to purchase, although the game passes will remain active permanently.
Customization: The game features minor customization features, which allow you to add a trail to your avatar or change the floor pattern. Trails increase your walk speed, while the floor patterns don’t have a practical effect. The former requires Cash to purchase and the latter unlocks as you discover new block types.
