Pillar Chase 2 is an experience where a Monster chases after the Survivors while they try to complete the main objective. Being an asymmetrical horror game, the Monster plays the role of the main antagonist while the Survivors function as the protagonist. The fiendish killer is the driving force behind the title’s gameplay loop and naturally, it’s important to know how they work.

Becoming the Monster is just as much about strategy as it is about brute strength. So, to help you understand how to play as these devilish murderers, we’ve made a complete guide covering their basic gameplay strategy.

Monsters are responsible for thwarting the Survivors’ escape attempts. They are chosen randomly at the beginning of a round, keeping their identity a surprise until the beginning of a round. Once a round starts, the chosen player is revealed, as is the Monster they play as.

There are two conditions that the killer must prevent: time running out and the humans finishing their respective tasks. Preventing the latter takes priority while playing as the hunter since task completions cause the timer to reduce drastically.

The game features a large roster of Monsters, allowing players to choose which horrifying creature they wish to embody. Each hunter has a different set of passive and active abilities, which define their overall performance while hunting down the Survivors.

You can use Coins to unlock new Monsters from the in-game shop. Furthermore, cosmetic items can be purchased to alter their appearances, giving them a terrifying makeover. We recommend saving your currency for a monster like Niloticus.

A fiend’s passive abilities can be activated anytime. The damage they deal and their speed are directly tied to their base stats, which vary from one Monster to another. Each Monster also gets two special abilities, activated using the number keys 1 and 2. These are devastating moves that possess the ability to severely hinder or damage the targeted survivor.

Some Monsters are inherently better than others, but all of them can overpower Survivors with ease. Each move consumes stamina, which is where the strategic element of the chosen Monster comes into play. Humans can generally outrun killers because of their high stamina and numbers.

So, knowing and using your tools wisely is the key to winning as the Monster in this experience.
