The Ranked mode in Bedwars presents an exciting opportunity to test your Minecraft skills against other players. Set in a team vs team PvP environment, Ranked mode lets you climb the ranks and compete for the top spot on the leaderboard. If you manage to reach the very top of the ranked ladder and achieve the Nightmare rank, you will receive exclusive rewards.

About the Ranked mode in Bedwars

Rules

Joining Ranked mode is fairly simple: approach the armored NPC with the Ranked mode prompt and interact with them. This will allow you to partake in a Ranked match, where you must keep a few rules in mind. These rules were put in place to avoid exploiters and cheaters from running amok.

Your account must be at least seven days old.
Your player level must be 10 or higher.
You can only queue with players of the same ranked bracket.
Your team cannot have fewer than three members at any point.

Players can rank up through Ranked Points (RP), which is gained through match wins. The game includes seven distinct ranks, which is how it determines the match-ups. This prevents players of low ranks from having to face impossible odds against those of higher ranks.

Rank progression starts at Bronze and continues through Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Emerald, and Nightmare. Ranks up to Diamond are divided into multiple sub-ranks, which are numbered to keep the system easy to understand and the progression pace steady.

Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum have four sub-ranks, while Diamond has three. Emerald and Nightmare are outliers in this regard, as they have no numbered sub-ranks. Each sub-rank requires you to gain 100 RP to progress to the next.

The RP you gain or lose is directly dependent on your rank and the opponents’. Winning gives you anywhere between 8 and 25 RP, which is restricted to 13 when at Platinum 3 rank or higher. If you lose, 5-25 RP will be deducted based on your performance.

At the end of the season, players’ RP is reset and they receive rewards corresponding to their final rank on the last day of the season.

Each match pits two groups of players against each other. The objective for each team is to eliminate the other and secure the win. In higher ranks, this style of matches makes for a ferociously competitive sight, where all 10 players try to perform the best and secure their spot on the leaderboard.

Certain items are banned from Ranked mode, making the game a lot more skill-dependent.

How to approach Ranked mode gameplay

Winning in Bedwars is all about fulfilling your role properly while cooperating with your team. That is the very fundamental upon which the success of your team rests. Moreover, the strategy you form varies between maps as well, warranting a preemptive practice session before jumping into the Ranked fray.

As the First Rusher, also known as the Bridger, you must form a bridge to reach the height limit. At the start of the match, drop your gold off with the rest of the squad and get as many blocks as you can. Form a bridge to reach as high as you can and use the remaining blocks to form a platform. That way, you won’t be knocked off during the fight.

If you are the Second or the Third Rusher, grab the iron armor and a few tools, craft fireballs, and follow the Bridger. Join the Bridger’s assault and give your best shot at taking down the opponent’s base. Remember that the other teams will be attempting the same, so be wary of their attacks while on the bridge.

The final member of the team, the Defender, has the responsibility of keeping the base safe and mounting a defense with what they have. If you’re the Defender, form a defensive formation using 12 Endstone and 16 Glass blocks.

This formation, known in the community as the Butterfly Bed defense, is the best way to defend your base from the enemy. It involves placing the Endstone in a butterfly-like formation and coating it with a layer of Glass blocks. If you have the resources, covering the blocks with White Wool is also a great idea.

These roles are mutually decided upon by the team, requiring effective communication before the match starts. Use the voice chat or the in-game text chat to speak to each other and relay strategic points or enemy attack warnings.
