Getting started in Cake Off

The core of Cake Off is to nail the visual aspect of a cake based on the provided theme. Its round progression is similar to Dress To Impress, meaning you will be given a limited time frame to design your cake. Once the designs are finalized or time runs out, all cakes will be shown off on a table.

In this phase, each player chooses the cake they feel is the best of the lot. This voting phase lasts a few rounds, with each round eliminating the cakes that receive the fewest votes. In the end, the cake with the most votes wins the match, granting the winner Coins and other rewards.

Creating the best possible cake needs access to the best design elements. While some are unlocked from the start, you must unlock others using the three in-game currencies. You can get access to new fillings, plates, toppings, and more by opening crates through the in-game Store.

The control scheme for this game is quite simplistic because its core gameplay revolves around customization. As such, you will be spending most of your time navigating different menus and selections using the Mouse.

Gameplay Mechanics

Difficulty Settings: You can join a particular lobby based on how challenging you wish the rounds to be. First-time players and those who prefer a relaxing experience can go for the Casual Lobby, while more competitive players can opt for the Default mode. Those who prefer a challenging experience with a tight time limit may enter the Expert lobby instead.
Theme: Matches assign a theme at the beginning, based on which players must construct their cakes. The theme also forms the basis upon which other Robloxians in your pool cast their votes in the second half of the match. If your cake matches the theme closely, it has a higher chance of winning.
Round Progression: Each match has two distinct phases: Design and Voting. The Design phase is where the lion’s share of the gameplay lies, with the Voting phase taking barely a minute to finish. Once both phases end, the winner of the match is decided and rewarded accordingly.
Design Phase: At the beginning of the Design phase, you must pick a template to base your designs on. You can choose from a selection of three templates, with the third being VIP exclusive. This selection can be refreshed using limited dice, randomizing the three items once more. Once the template is decided, you can experiment with each layer and customize them to your heart’s content.
Customizable Elements: Broadly categorizing, each cake has three divisions of customization: the toppers, the tiers, and the extras. The number of tiers a cake has depends on the template you choose; for instance, double-decker cakes have two tiers that can be customized independently. You may alter the filling, topper, base, and more for each tier separately using the given customization options.
Voting Phase: Winning in the Voting Phase is entirely dependent on whether the players on your team find your cake appealing. If your cake is visually interesting and adheres to the given theme, the chances of it winning are quite high. The winner is rewarded with Coins and Gems, which can be used at the in-game Store. Note that players can’t vote for their own cake.
Crates: You can open crates to unlock design elements for your future cakes. You can use Coins, Gems, and Robux at the in-game Store to open various crates and gain access to unique design options. These options may contribute to a future victory, which skyrockets the value of these crates.
Premium Features: You can use Robux to access Game Passes that simplify the game for you. Passes include various benefits like a permanent VIP membership, infinite cake template rerolls, a starter pack, and more. The VIP membership, in particular, rewards you with 4,000 Coins and 200 Gems every month and unlocks three cake bases and 15 VIP packs. It’s an easy way to get a leg up on the opposition.
