Roblox Chained is a co-op platformer title that links you and your partner with a chain. With treacherous terrain and precarious edges to navigate, the game can be quite challenging to clear. It is essential that you work with your friend to avoid falling into the void and being sent back to the lobby. Communicate with your partner and take on this difficult platforming experience.
This article explains the core gameplay loop of Roblox Chained and answers a few common questions along the way.
Getting started with Roblox Chained
Overview
Roblox Chained is a two-player cooperative experience that cannot be played on your lonesome. You can either have a friend accompany you in this platformer title or link with a stranger instead. While the former is preferable because of familiarity, you can make the game work with players you don’t know as well.
As the title suggests, you and your partner will be chained together as you navigate the different areas of the game. Both of you must hop and skip your way to the next checkpoint while ensuring neither falls behind. While simple on paper, the game becomes quite difficult if you are not in sync.
Both players must also keep an eye on each other, as one fall could result in the other’s doom. This can be avoided by using the Pull button (E by default) to pull the fallen player back up from the abyss. Keep your finger on the E key while platforming to quickly catch your partner if they end up falling.

Gameplay Mechanics
- Platforming Adventure: The game is a platformer experience where you jump across gaps, navigate narrow ledges, solve puzzles, and avoid falling into the void. One of the players acts as the Main, while the other acts as the Second. The only difference between these roles is that the Main chooses the starting Checkpoint. Falling results in an instant game-over, which sends both players back to the Lobby.
- Linked Platforming: Chained uses a physics-based chain that keeps two players linked at all times after they form a link in the lobby. This prevents both players from moving too far away from each other, creating a situation where both must work together to succeed. The game is made to be enjoyed with friends and its design focuses on testing both the players’ skill and cooperative spirit.
- Checkpoints and Multiple Areas: You can explore multiple areas with your partner, which are separated by Checkpoints. Reaching a Checkpoint lets you resume where you left off, acting as a soft restore point for both players. This keeps the game from becoming too punishing and gives you some sense of progression.
- Premium Sabotage: You can spend Robux to sabotage other players on the server. Summon an Earthquake, trip all players, or reduce gravity for 30 seconds for 78, 298, and 128 Robux, respectively. There is no inherent benefit to this except trolling the other Robloxians on the server.
- In-Game Shop: You can purchase three items for utility and several skins for the linking chain. The three items include the Long Chain, the Slapper, and the Pumpkin Bomb. Of these items, the Long Chain is the most useful, extending your range and enlarging the room for error.
