The Strongest Battlegrounds is all about fighting it out with other players to see who can score the most kills. Its default game mode is a free-for-all, where all players spawn on a map and try to defeat as many opponents as possible. Being downed is not a problem, as they can immediately respawn and continue the fight.

You can play as one of eight characters that possess different damage outputs, abilities, ranges, and more. There are a few elements shared among them, such as a light attack combo, critical hits, blocking, dodging, and more. The way in which these options interact with each other gives the combat system plenty of depth, incentivizing players to practice optimal combo routes.

Your kill score counts as the game’s currency and can be used to purchase a myriad of items to customize your character. Being a competitive fighting title, the game offers no in-shop options (free or premium) that give you an advantage in battle. Gameplay Mechanics

Basic Combat: On a rudimentary level, the combat involves using your basic attacks, called M1s to form a combo string by holding the button down. Skill Types: There are various types of skills that a character can have, such as barrages, grabs, counters, mobility, and more. The properties of these skills are what make a character versatile, as a well-rounded moveset includes a mixture of offensive and defensive skills.
Combat Terminology: Upon delving into the depths of the combat, you will encounter terms like stun, i-frames, armor, and more, often seen in traditional fighting games. Stun is the duration a character remains stunned after getting hit. I-frames are the number of frames a character remains invincible during a certain action. Lastly, armor denotes a character’s ability to remain unimpeded by an enemy attack while performing an action. These terms are crucial when discussing the game’s combat flow.
Forming a Combo: Combos can be created by mixing M1 attacks with skills. Complex combos incorporate the terrain as well, leveraging a nearby wall to extend combo duration and increase overall damage. Lengthier combos have the potential to cover more ground and consequently, are more difficult to execute because of hit stun deterioration.
Ultimate Mode: Dealing damage fills up a meter, which can be seen above the skills tabs. This represents your Ultimate Mode, which can be accessed once the meter is filled up completely.
