Tycoon RNG: A beginner’s guide

Tycoon RNG combines the randomness of RNG-style games with the upward monetary climb featured in Tycoon-style games. The result is a title where you roll various equipment and set up your very own mining layout that prints billions of cash per second. This unique spin on both genres is fairly simple to get into and showcases a surprising amount of depth once your setup advances sufficiently.

This guide serves as an introduction to Tycoon RNG and gives you a brief tour of its one-of-a-kind gameplay style.

Getting started in Tycoon RNG

Tycoon RNG has you manage three types of machines that determine the amount of money you make per second: droppers, upgraders, and furnaces. Droppers dispense ores onto a conveyor belt, upgraders improve their quality, and furnaces process them into the final product.

Your income will skyrocket depending on the rarity, drop rate, and multiplier on these pieces of machinery. For this, you must interact with the RNG part of Tycoon RNG: the Roll feature. Roll allows you to randomly obtain one of many unique pieces of equipment, ranging from simple iron versions to Celestial-tier setups.

Once you Roll, add the new machines to the conveyor belt or replace existing ones with better alternatives. This forms the fundamental pillar of the game, which makes the gameplay loop easy to pick up. As you collect more items and machines, you will encounter more complex ore interactions and machine configurations.

Note that the game is still in the Alpha stage of development, which means that it will continuously be updated and improved over time. Many of the game’s elements are subject to change, which is worth being mindful of.

Gameplay Elements

RNG-based Tycoon: Building an empire out of what you obtain through rolls is the gist of this game. Everything else adds to this title’s unique flavor, making it a deep and engaging experience.
Rolls: Use the Roll button at the bottom to obtain a random machine. After using the button, you will be prompted to accept or discard the obtained machine before you can press it again. If your inventory is full, you can either expand your inventory using in-game cash or replace one of the existing machines.
Auto-Roll: If you’re fishing for rare machines without having to click Discard after every roll and toggle the Auto-Roll feature on. This feature continuously performs spins until you make it stop, skipping each roll unless it is a rare one. Auto-Roll is best used in the end game, once you have access to some of the better machines and need access to only the best ones.
Machines: Each dropper, upgrader, and furnace has a multiplier tied to it that determines the value of the mined ore. The higher the multiplier, the more money it will yield. As you collect more machines, replace existing ones with better alternatives to keep your income rate climbing.
Rate of Ore Production: Droppers have a secondary stat that governs the rate of ore production. The more ores it produces per second, the more money it will earn you. Certain droppers mine ores of an extremely high value, but only produce them once every few seconds. Consider choosing the dropper that balances both stats well to maximize your earnings.
Unique Upgrader Interactions: Some of the best upgraders apply secondary effects to the ores on the conveyor belts that alter their properties. For instance, one of the earliest examples of this is the Flame Blaster upgrader, which sets ores on fire. This can cause the ores to be destroyed, effectively nullifying the high multiplier it boasts. Luckily, other upgraders can be used in tandem with such machines to offset their shortcomings and maximize your income.

Upgrades: You can apply multiple upgrades to your mining setup and rolls, which include expansion, increased roll speed, increased walk speed, and more. Interact with the spawn platform using the Left Mouse Button to access the upgrade menu. Since the cost of certain upgrades increases exponentially with each step, it will be a while before you reach the end of the upgrade path.
Crafting: The Crafting section can be accessed by navigating the central platforms until you reach a small room near the bottom. You can craft Auras and items that boost your luck, income, roll speed, and more using cubes that randomly spawn in the overworld. Collect every cube that you see and use these items to nab the rarest and best machines in the game.
