Type Soul Halloween Update: Halloween 2024 Event, Battle Royale mode, and more

Type Soul is a PvP-centric game based on the popular animanga series, Bleach. As Halloween season approaches, the game has implemented a vast array of new additions, balance changes, and other updates. These alterations and additions serve to improve the overall gameplay experience from both a PvE and a PvP point of view.

This article delves into all the new elements added to Type Soul, along with the changes made to improve its core and supporting systems.

Everything new in the Halloween Update for Type Soul

The Halloween 2024 Event

In celebration of the Halloween season, Type Soul has introduced the Halloween 2024 Event. This event tasks you with becoming a ghost hunter, tackling spectral foes and collecting Ectoplasm as a part of the job. You can exchange Ectoplasm at the Halloween shop to obtain new Halloween-themed items, cosmetics, accessories, low-cost Zenith Chains, and more.

The Halloween 2024 Event also adds a new KT Halloween Event boss, who can be defeated for various rewards. You can collect four unique accessories by defeating the boss. Additionally, you can accept the new Halloween Quest for a more guided approach to the Halloween 2024 Event.

During the Halloween 2024 Event, players will be assigned a specific role based on their chosen race. Arrancars are designated the role of a Dullahan, Soul Reapers that of a Reaper, and Quincies that of a Ghost.

Battle Royale game mode, Muay Thai fighting style, Race Branch Paths, and more

Listed below are all the additions made to the core systems of Type Soul, which include the Battle Royale game mode, a new fighting style, and so on:

Introduces the new Battle Royale game mode, which has you participate in a free-for-all battle against other players. Showcase your most powerful abilities and become the last one standing in this chaotic battle mode.
Added the Muay Thai fighting style. Leverage the power of fast elbow and knee strikes to take your opponent down.
Implemented Essence: Flame of Blitz.
Clan Wars mode has been given a revamp, restructuring the game mode from the ground up.
Ash Shikai / Bankai has been implemented.
Hakuda has been reworked from scratch.
Karakura Town has been revamped.
New The Zombie Schrift / Voltstanding has been implemented.
The Neliel Katana has been added to the game for Arrancars.
Bambi’s Sphere, a new Quincy Kido Essence, can be obtained in the game.
Vizard has been revamped, giving you three abilities and a corresponding passive for each. These abilities are Armor, Halt, and Resonance.
Titles can be earned again by speaking to the designated NPC in Karakura Town.
Added the Mythical Shikai Stasis, which lets you use the desired Shikai weapon without being locked to a hardcoded Shikai weapon.

A game-changing update to the experience’s faction system is the ability to break ties with your current faction and create a hybrid version of the same. Abandon your current form and seek greater power with the following hybrids:

Quincycar: Can shoot Bogen shots powered by a Cero Oscuras. Acts as a health-stealing ability. (Quincy only)
Anomaly: A Quincy-Hollow hybrid that lets you use weapons from both factions, along with a Shikai weapon. Gain the ability to switch between Blut Vene and Hierro (Soul Reaper only).
Vastoquin: Unstable version of Letzstil that increases Letzt drain and Resurrection drain in exchange for increasing the potency of your Letzt buffs while boosting the Vasto variant. (Arrancar only)

In exchange for these benefits, you will be relinquishing True Form and Ultra Skills that are unique to each faction. Additionally, your Submode drain and Mode drain will be increased by 20% and 25%, respectively, along with a blanket 10% debuff in Ranked PvP mode.

A new Rewards system has been implemented to Type Soul in the form of Hogyoku Wishes. You can wish for power once you collect the specified fragments, but be careful while obtaining them, as they can be dropped upon death. Once you make a wish, everyone on the server receives an alert, potentially putting you in other players’ crosshairs.

Other changes and balance updates

Listed below are all the miscellaneous changes introduced to Type Soul with the latest update:

New EXP gain system that merges every source of EXP into one. Level-up progress can be viewed on the bar under your Posture meter.
UI has been revamped across the board.
Dev Product Shikai / Volt / Res can now spawn Mythical / Legendary / Rare abilities with a 2x drop chance boost.
Shunko can be toggled on and off.
New Letzt / Glove skins have been implemented.

Here is a list of balance changes implemented with the Halloween Update:

Shori’s range has been reduced from 85 to 49.
Cooldown of Hakuda moves has been increased slightly across the board.
Lightning Shunko forward critical attack has been made 20% slower.
Water Z can now be blocked in any direction.
Water geyser range was reduced from 80 to 30.
Increased the windup of Confliction by 15%.
Increased Redirection Counter windup from 0.15 to 0.2.
Decreased Redirection Counter damage from 25 to 20.
Increased Shark Feeding Frenzy cooldown from 20 to 30.
Reduced true stun inflicted by Fire Entai’s final hit from 1 to 0.5.
Reduced true stun inflicted by Boren Slashes from 0.35 to 0.2.
Removed Stratas +6 damage on counter.
Reduced soft stun inflicted by Grand Entrance from 0.4 to 0.1.
Reduced Shinso X counter damage from 35 to 25.
Reduced Shinso C damage from 30 to 20.
Reduced Shinso Z damage from 53.5 to 30.
Self Heal has been eliminated from the game entirely.
Healing Circle’s effects apply to other players within the circle and not the caster themself.
Reduced Ghostwalk’s Posture Damage and overall damage slightly.
