Chase Kalisz is an American professional swimmer, specializing in breaststroke, butterfly, and medley. Born on March 7, 1994, Chase is affectionately known as "Killer Kalisz." Kalisz swam at the University of Georgia under coach Jack Bauerle. In 2016, he became the first American swimmer to qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympics where he won gold in the 400-meter medley at the U.S. Olympic Trials. At the Rio Games, he secured a silver medal in the 400-meter individual medley. Chase achieved his first Olympic gold in the 400 IM at the Tokyo 2021 Games.
Not only the Olympics, Chase has also won many medals in World Championships. In 2013, he won a silver medal in the 400-meter IM. In the following year, he secured a bronze medal at the 2015 Championships. In 2017, Chase won gold in both the 200-meter and 400-meter IM events.
