Arrow McLaren SP Bio
Arrow McLaren SP was in a lot of hot water during the 2024 season due to the failed acquisition of Alex Palou. The multiple-time IndyCar champion was set to join the team in 2024 but ultimately decided to break his contract. McLaren sued him for breach of contract for which they claimed over $23 million in damages from the reigning IndyCar champion. McLaren has been extremely successful in the IndyCar feeder series, Indy Lights. They have won seven driver’s championships and two teach championship titles in the series. Arrow McLaren has been moderately successful in the IndyCar series. The team have yet to win a championship or Indy 500 race in the IndyCar series.
Arrow McLaren SP is a British-based motorsports racing company founded by Sam Schmidt in 2001 as Sam Schmidt Motorsports. During his practice race at Walt Disney World Speedway, he met with an accident and was diagnosed as a quadriplegic, the result of a severe injury to his spinal cord at the C-3/C-4 levels, and was on a respirator for five months. Schmidt announced the formation of his team 14 months after his accident. In 2020, the team entered into a joint venture agreement With McLaren Racing and both combined renamed the team as Arrow McLaren SP. McLaren has had a history of competing as an entrant and chassis constructor in the IndyCar series. As an entrant, they won the Indy 500 in 1974 and 1976 and as a chassis constructor, they won in 1972.

Chief Executive Officer
Zak Brown joined the team in 2017 and is the Chief Executive Officer of Arrow McLaren SP. Brown helped the team return to the front of the Formula 1 grid and expanded their operations to other forms of motorsports, including the World Endurance Championship in 2024. Zak Brown was born and raised in California. He was a motorsports racer before developing his own business. Brown founded JMI in 1968 which became the largest and the most successful motorsport marketing agency in the world. The company was later sold off to CSM, a division of Chime Communications in 2013.

Chloe Todd is the Executive Director, Chief of Staff to the CEO. She joined McLaren in 2017. She is a 2012 graduate of Goldsmiths College, University of London with a BA in Drama. Todd studied Masters in Acting at East15 Acting School. She worked at CSM Sports until 2017 working in roles of global sponsorship programmes and brand experiences for consumer and corporate brands.
