Born on June 12, 2004, Arthur Fils is a professional tennis player from France. He reached a career-high ATP singles rating of No. 20 on July 22, 2024, and a doubles ranking of No. 195 on October 28, 2024. He won his first ATP Tour singles title at the Lyon Open in 2023, and he has since won three more. As of December 2024, he is ranked No. 20 in the ATP singles rankings and the second-ranked French player. He is a strong player who finishes points fast with his serve and forehand. As he stated to Ouest-France in 2023, in fact: "In the way I play, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga's the one I identify with the most."

Fils turned professional in 2021 and made his ATP tour debut at the 2022 Rolex Paris Masters, becoming the youngest French qualifier to enter the main draw of a Masters 1000 tournament since Gael Monfils in 2004. He entered the top 100 in May 2023, becoming the youngest active player to reach this milestone. Arthur Fils' Birthplace

Arthur Fils was born and raised in Bondoufle, in the department of Essonne, close to Paris, in the Île-de-France area. He began playing tennis with his French West Indies-born father, Jean-Philippe, at the age of five. Since 2019, he has been training at the French National Training Center (indoor) of the French Tennis Federation, which is located near Stade Roland Garros.

Fils holds a license from the Saint-Michel-sur-Orge tennis club. Since the end of 2022, Laurent Raymond has been his coach. At the end of 2023, former world No. 4 Sébastien Grosjean and former world No. 3 and two-time Roland Garros champion Sergi Bruguera took Raymond's place as his coach.

His first ATP title came at the Lyon Open in 2023, where he defeated Francisco Cerundolo in the final to become the youngest champion in the tournament’s history. He also became the youngest French player at 18 years and 11 months to win an ATP singles title since Gael Monfils in 2005.

At the 2024 Hamburg Open in July, Fils defeated Alexander Zverev in the final to win both his second singles title and his first 500 title. In October, at the 2024 Japan Open, he defeated Ugo Humbert in three sets to win his third ATP title. He defeated four top-20 players to become the second-youngest champion in the history of the Tokyo tournament.
