Canadian tennis star Leylah Fernandez has established a career in both singles and doubles. As per the latest ranking released by WTA, she is ranked No. 29 as of January 2025. The 22-year-old achieved a career-high ranking of No. 13 in singles on August 8, 2022, and No. 17 in doubles on October 23, 2023. Fernandez achieved her biggest accomplishment at 19 by finishing runner-up at the 2021 US Open. She registered wins against three top players to reach the final, including defending champion Naomi Osaka and Aryna Sabalenka.

Fernandez has won three WTA singles titles as of January 2025, including the 2023 Hong Kong Open. She finished quarterfinalist at the 2024 Cincinnati Open by registering a win over Elena Rybakina and Diana Shnaider en route. With her sister Bianca Fernandez, she advanced to the semifinal of the 2024 Canadian Open, losing to Erin Routliffe and Gabriela Dabrowski.
