Max Purcell is an Australian tennis player who plays both singles and doubles. Born on April 3, 1998, Purcell achieved his career-high singles ranking of No. 40 on October 16, 2023. In doubles, he achieved his career-high doubles ranking of world No. 8 on September 9, 2024, and is ranked No. 12 as of November 2024.

He is a two-time Grand Slam champion, winning the 2022 Wimbledon in doubles with partner Matthew Ebden and the 2024 US Open with Jordan Thompson. At the 2024 US Open, he and Thompson defeated World No. 1 Horacio Zeballos and Marcel Granollers in the quarterfinal.

Purcell has won eight doubles titles to date, including the 2024 Los Cabos Open and the 2024 Dallas Open, but is yet to win a singles title. He registered his first top-10 win at the 2023 Western & Southern Open, defeating one of the top seeds Casper Ruud. In the next round, he defeated Stan Wawrinka to reach his first singles Masters quarterfinal.

Purcell, with Thompson, qualified for the 2024 Nitto ATP Finals, where they reached the semifinal but lost to the team of Tim Putz and Kevin Krawtiez by 6-2, 3-6, 9-11. He advanced to the semifinal of the 2024 Paris Masters, with Thompson losing to Lloyd Glasspool and Adam Pavlásek.
