Rafael Nadal has won the French Open title 14 times in his career, which makes him the most successful player in tournament history. Nadal made his French Open debut in 2005 and won his first title after defeating Mariano Puerta in the final. After winning his first French Open, he became the second man, after Mats Wilander in 1982, to win the French Open on his first attempt.

Between 2006-2008, Nadal defeated Roger Federer in the final. His first loss at the French Open came in 2009 against Robin Soderling, however, in 2010 he defeated Robin Soderling in the final to win his fifth French Open title.

Nadal won five consecutive French Open titles between 2010 to 2014, defeating Roger Federer in the 2011 final, and Novak Djokovic in the 2012 and 2014 finals.

Nadal won four consecutive French Open titles between 2017 to 2020. His 14th French Open title came in 2022, where he defeated Casper Ruud in the Final.
