Nicolas Jarry is a professional tennis player from Chile who turned pro in 2014. He achieved his career-high ranking of No. 16 in May 2024. Jarry comes from a family of athletes, with his father and mother both being former volleyball players. His grandfather, Jaime Fillol, was a top-15 tennis player and the one who introduced him to the sport.

Jarry has won three ATP singles titles to date, including the 2023 Santiago Open, the 2023 Geneva Open, and the Bastad Open 2019. Jarry was selected by the Chilean Olympic Committee, along with rower Antonia Abraham, as the flag bearers for the 2024 Paris Olympics. At the 2024 Italian Open, he reached his first Masters 1000 final, losing to Alexander Zverev in the final. He became the first player from Chile to reach a Masters final since González in 2007.

Besides two singles titles in 2023, he also registered his best Grand Slam result, reaching the fourth round of the 2023 French Open. He also reached his first Masters quarterfinals at the 2023 Shanghai Masters. He ended the 2023 season on a high note, registering three wins against top 10 players, two against Stefanos Tsitsipas and one against Casper Ruud.
