Adam Fantilli

Adam Fantilli, born on October 12, 2004, is a Canadian professional ice hockey center currently playing for the Columbus Blue Jackets in the National Hockey League (NHL). Notably, he was drafted as the third overall pick by the Blue Jackets in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

Prior to joining the Blue Jackets, Fantilli used to showcase his skills at University of Michigan. In his only season with them, he earned the prestigious Hobey Baker Award, the Tim Taylor Award, Big Ten Tournament honors alongside many other notable mentions. However, he decided to forgo his college career and signed an entry-level contract with the Blue Jackets on July 1, 2023.

Fantilli marked his NHL debut on his 19th birthday as the Blue Jackets squared off against the Philadelphia Phillies on October 12, 2023. Just nine days later, on October 21, 2023, Fantilli netted his inaugural NHL goal during a thrilling 5-4 overtime victory against the Minnesota Wild.

Adam Fantilli was born to parents Giuliano and Julia Fantilli who raised him in the unincorporated territory of Nobleton, Ontario, Canada. Notably, his career prior to the NHL saw him attend Kimball Union Academy and take the field with the Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League (USHL).

Prior to that he was selected by the Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection Draft. However, he had already committed to play for the Chicago Steel. During his two-year stay there, he contributed with 55 goals and 55 assists across 103 games. His achievements with the Steel included him getting named to the USHL All-Rookie Second Team and helping the team with the Anderson Cup and Clark Cup while simultaneously earning the Clark Cup Playoffs MVP. Moreover, during his second season with the team, his tally of 74 points tied him with Kyle Connor for the most points by a player in their draft-minus-one-season in USHL history.
