Henrique grew up in Burford, Ontario, playing minor hockey for the Burford Coyotes and later the AAA Brantford 99ers. His accomplishments include winning gold with Team Ontario U-17 team at the 2007 Canada Winter Games and participating in the 2010 OHL All-Star Game with the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He contributed to Spitfires' back-to-back Memorial Cup victories in 2009 and 2010. He continued with the Albany Devils of the American Hockey League before making his NHL debut in the 2010-11 season.
