The Buffalo Sabres are a professional ice hockey team in Buffalo, New York. They compete in the NHL as a member of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference. Established in 1970, the team has called KeyBank Center home since 1996, previously playing at the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium. Terry Pegula has owned the team since 2011.

The Sabres have reached the Stanley Cup Finals twice, in 1975 and 1999, but lost to the Philadelphia Flyers and the Dallas Stars, respectively. They are one of the oldest active NHL franchises that have never won the Stanley Cup and currently hold the longest playoff drought in the NHL at 13 seasons, a record for professional sports.
