Dan Bylsma is an American ice hockey coach and former player, serving as the head coach of the Seattle Kraken in the NHL as of 2025. Born on September 19, 1970, Bylsma had a successful playing career, spending time with the Los Angeles Kings and the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. After retiring as a player, he moved into coaching, leading the Pittsburgh Penguins to a Stanley Cup championship in 2009. He also coached the Buffalo Sabres and was an assistant coach for the Detroit Red Wings. Bylsma later returned to coaching in the AHL, leading the Coachella Valley Firebirds to a strong season in 2023-24. Following this success, he was promoted to head coach of the Seattle Kraken in 2024 and continues to play the role.
