Jakub Vrana, born on February 28,1996, is a Czech professional ice hockey forward currently affiliated with the Springfield Thunderbirds in the American Hockey League (AHL) while contracted to the St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Notably, throughout the entirety of his career, he has also been part of the Detroit Red Wings and the Washington Capitals. His stay with the Capitals was a memorable one, as he was able to led the team to a division title in 2017-18 and later to the 2018 Stanley Cup finals, where the Capitals came on top of the Vegas Golden Knights.
Following that, he joined the Red Wings on a trade that also involved Richard Panik in exchange for Anthony Mantha. Jakub Vrana Early Life
Jakub Vrana began skating at a very early age. Notably, he practiced skating at a rink owned by former Capitals scout Vojtech Kucera’s brother. However, he left home at the age of 15 to play in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) and later participated in the 2009 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament. Moving forward, Vrana made his Elisterien debut with Linkoping HC during the 2012-13 season.
