Josh Jacobs is an American professional ice hockey defenseman who is playing with the Montreal Canadiens' affiliate Laval Rocket. Before entering the NHL, Josh started his journey in his hometown Shelby Township, Michigan, with the Detroit Honeybaked U16 program. He slowly advanced to a higher level after playing in the Honeybaked U16 program. In 2012, Jacobs was selected in the Ontario Hockey League as the 72nd overall pick by the Sarina Sting.

Jacobs debuted in the NHL with the New Jersey Devils in 2018 and he played his debut match against the Boston Bruins. In 2021, Jacobs signed a one-year two-way contract with the Carolina Hurricanes. During that season the Hurricanes sent Jacobs to their AHL affiliate team Chicago Wolves. He contributed to the Wolves' victory in the Clark Cup in 2022. As a free agent from the Avalanche, Jacobs was signed to a one-year, two-way contract to join rivals, the St. Louis Blues. In 2024, Jacobs signed a one-year AHL contract with the Montreal Canadiens affiliate Laval Rocket.
