Matthew David Duchene is a Canadian professional ice hockey center for the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League (NHL). Born on January 16, 1991, his NHL journey started with the Colorado Avalanche who selected him third overall during the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Throughout his NHL career, Dunchene has played for multiple teams including the Ottawa Senators, Columbus Blue Jackets, Nashville Predators, and now Dallas Stars.

Matt Duchene started his ice hockey journey in his hometown Haliburton, Ontario, where he played with the Haliburton Huskies. Later he advanced to the AAA level with the Central Ontario Wolves.
