Miles Wood hails from Buffalo, New York, and spent his formative years in Manchester, Massachusetts. During his youth, Wood participated in the 2007 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament as a member of the Middlesex Islanders minor ice hockey team, alongside teammates Jon Gillies and Matt Grzelcyk.
