Jakob Chychrun proposed to Olivia in a peaceful outdoor setting. He got down on one knee and presented her with a ring, surrounded by trees.

The proposal was shared with family and friends. Olivia, an Instagram influencer with over 19K followers, is also a real estate agent. She graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Windsor.

Jakob Chychrun grew up in a hockey family with NHL legacy

Jakob Chychrun was born in Boca Raton, Florida, to Nancy and Jeff Chychrun. He grew up in a hockey-focused family. His father, Jeff, played in the NHL for eight seasons, and his uncle, Luke Richardson, is a former NHL defenseman and last coached the Chicago Blackhawks.

Hockey was a constant in Jakob’s life, thanks to his father’s career. Jeff played for teams like the Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Los Angeles Kings. During his time with the Kings, he played with Wayne Gretzky.

In October, during an NHL on TNT interview, Jakob shared:

“It was pretty special. I was pretty lucky that my pops coached me growing up." Jakob said per NHL on TNT, "I remember meeting Wayne when he was coaching the Coyotes and a bunch of times after that as well. It's just really cool. I was able to go down and meet a lot of my idols growing up after the Panthers games.”

Jakob began skating at a young age and later attended the American Heritage School in Boca Raton before fully committing to hockey. The Washington Capitals added Jakob Chychrun in the 2024 off-season to improve their playoff chances.

Chychrun has played an important role for the Capitals this season. He has scored 10 goals and recorded 13 assists, with a +14 rating. His strong defense and scoring have helped the Caps in big moments.
