Edmonton Oilers veteran Corey Perry took on the Detroit Red Wings’ Joe Veleno in a spirited bout on Sunday. The 39-year-old Perry set off fireworks as both #90s went at it in the first period of the Oilers-Wings’ tilt at the Little Caesars Arena.

Both traded punches before Perry drilled Veleno with a long series of blows. Veleno also responded. The two kept going at it until the officials stepped in to break up the fight.

Corey Perry took on Veleno, who, at 24, is practically a player half his age.
The heavyweight tilt seemed to spark the Oilers, especially after the Red Wings dominated much of the first period. The Oilers turned things around in the second, eventually winning the game in overtime on Leon Draisaitl’s game-winner.
