The Ottawa Senators, often called the Sens, are a professional ice hockey team based in Ottawa, Canada. Established in 1992 by Bruce Firestone, an areal estate developer, the team competes in the NHL as a member of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference. Notably, they are second team to use the Ottawa Senators name, paying homage the Orginal team. Ottawa Senators Division History
The Ottawa Senators began with the Adamas Division in their inagural season in 1992-93. However, the following season they shifted to the Northeast division in the Eastern Conference. Their initial years were marked by inconsistencies and lower half finishes. Despite, they claimed their first division title in 1998-99 and their second two season later in 2000-01. The subsequent years saw them add two more division titles. The recent past hasn't been to kind to them as they are currenly on a six-year absence from the playoffs.
