Paul Maurice is a Canadian ice hockey coach and former player who is currently leading the Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League (NHL). Maurice previously coached the Hartford Whalers/Carolina Hurricanes (two stints) and the Toronto Maple Leafs before joining the Winnipeg Jets in 2014. After resigning from the Jets in 2021, he took over as head coach of the Florida Panthers in 2022, leading them to the 2023 Stanley Cup Finals.

Moreover, Maurice was one of the youngest head coaches in NHL history when he started with the Hartford Whalers. He also became the youngest coach to reach 1,000 and 1,500 NHL games and the second-youngest to achieve 500 wins. Unfortunately, the record of most losses by an NHL coach is also held by him, with 713 losses till now. Furthermore, Maurice is one of only three coaches to earn at least 300 wins with two different franchises (Carolina Hurricanes and Winnipeg Jets).
