Born on July 11, 1993, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, his NHL journey began when he was drafted 64th overall by the Florida Panthers in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Trocheck started his professional journey with the Panthers' affiliate team, San Antonio Rampage in the American Hockey League (AHL) and made his NHL debut during the 2013-14 season.
In February 2020, Vincent was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes, where he contributed 10 goals and 36 points in 55 games. The Hurricanes traded him to the New York Rangers, signing a seven-year, $39.375 million contract.
