They also serve to encourage and motivate the athletes to continue their athletic careers. The most common forms of medals are the gold medals, the silver medals and the bronze medals.

The gold medals of Paris 2024 have been designed by the House of Chaumet, one of the premier jewelry companies in France in collaboration with Martin Fourcade and the Paris 2024 Athletes’ Commission. To make the gold medal unique, they have included a piece of original iron from the Eiffel Tower at the center of the medal in the form of a hexagon. Notably, the iron has been changed back to its original color and the logo of the Paris 2024 Olympics has been engraved in it.
The designers have also used six metal appendages in the form of gems to fix the hexagon at the center of the medal. Moreover, the parallel lines moving outward from the hexagon at regular intervals determine the radiant nature of France and how the athletes perform in the games.
