Allisha Gray is a professional basketball player in the WNBA for the Atlanta Dream. Standing at 6 ft tall, Gray played for the Dallas Wings after being drafted as the fourth pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft, following which she was awarded the WNBA Rookie of the Year in her first season. From 2017 to 2023, Gray played for the Wings, averaging 11.7 points for them. In 2023, Atlanta Dream traded their 2023 1st round pick #3, who turned out to be Maddy Siegrist and their 2025 1st round pick to Dallas (DAL).

Besides her WNBA achievements, Gray has also performed well at the international level. She was part of the U. S. women’s 3x3 basketball team that emerged as the winner of the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Gray has been recognized as a WNBA All-Star 2 times, in 2023 and 2024.

Allisha Gray College

Allisha Gray started her college basketball for the University of North Carolina (UNC) Tar Heels from the year 2013 to 2015. In her first year at the college, Gray averaged 13.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. She was selected to the All-ACC Freshman team and contributed to the success of the Tar Heels. In her second year, she averaged 15.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game and was named to the All-ACC team. Gray transferred to the University of South Carolina after her sophomore season.

At South Carolina, Gray was instrumental in the Gamecocks' success. In the 2016-2017 season, she averaged 13.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. She played a significant role in the team that made the Gamecocks achieve their first NCAA Championship in 2017. Gray was exceptional during the tournament and was duly awarded a place in the All-Tournament Team.

Allisha Gray High School

Allisha Gray attended Washington County High School in Sandersville, Georgia. She was a force on the court and her team had a three-year record of 88-4. In the 2010-2011 season, Gray led her team to an unblemished season and a 3A state championship with a record of 32-0. She was awarded the 3A State Player of the Year three times because of her outstanding performance. In her junior year, she scored an average of 32 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game and helped her team finish second in the state.

Gray was a part of the U18 USA Basketball National Team and the 3-on-3 National Team. Although she only played in three games during her senior year due to a knee injury, her high school performance and ability were not overlooked. She was highly sought after by college coaches and was ranked as the seventh-best women’s basketball player in the country in 2013.
