Kayla McBride is an American professional basketball player who plays as a shooting guard for the Minnesota Lynx of the WNBA and Laces BC of the Unrivaled 3x3 basketball league. McBride’s basketball career started at Villa Maria Academy where she played for her high school team and won two Pennsylvania Class AA state championships in 2009 and 2010. McBride then joined the University of Notre Dame where led the Fighting Irish to four consecutive final fours and three NCAA finals. McBride began her professional career in the WNBA when she was selected third overall by the San Antonio Stars in the 2014 WNBA Draft.
During her WNBA career, McBride has been a steady producer, being named to the WNBA All-Star team four times (2015, 2018, 2019, 2024). She has also won several championships in the international leagues including Hungary, Russia, and Turkey. She was awarded the EuroLeague Final Four MVP in 2024, which shows her contribution to the international level. She also won the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup in 2024.
