Kayla McBride is a women's basketball player who plays for the Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA. She was born on June 25, 1992, in Erie, Pennsylvania, U.S. McBride started her basketball journey at Villa Maria Academy which is in her hometown. After schooling, she joined The Notre Dame Fighting Irish women's basketball team where she established herself as the best point guard in the state. during college, she won some prestigious awards like First-team All-Big East selection and being named the Big East Tournament MOP in the same year. During her college career, she was also named as 2 times WBCA Coaches' All-American team selection.

In 2014 McBride was selected third overall pick by the San Antonio Stars in the WNBA draft. In her rookie season, she impressed everyone by averaging 13 points per game. Due to such performances, McBride made it into the WNBA All-Rookie Team. In her entire WNBA career, Kayla McBride has been a 4 WNBA All-Star and won one WNBA Commissioner's Cup in 2024. In the 2024 WNBA season, she averaged 15.0 points, 3.2 assists, and 2.6 rebounds per game as per Basketball Reference..
