Haku is a former Tongan professional wrestler best known for his work in WWE. Hailing from Tonga's main island, his early life revolved around academics at Tonga College, where he honed his skills on the rugby field. However, a unique opportunity arose at 15 when he was chosen as part of a group sent to Japan by the Tongan king to study sumo wrestling. This journey would mark the beginning of Haku's foray into the world of combat sports. In Japan, he adopted the sumo name Fukunoshima and competed professionally, reaching the rank of Makushita 27.
His chapter of Sumo Wrestling closed in the 1970s and then he entered the world of professional wrestling. He got married to Dorothy Koloamatangi in 1987 and the couple are parents to four kids - two biological and two adopted. All three sons of Haku have followed in their father’s footsteps and are successful professional wrestlers themselves.

Ties with the Anoa’i Family
While Haku is not a member of the Samoan Anoa’i family, he is hailed highly by the Samoan wrestlers. Many might even think that Haku and his sons Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa are members of the Samoan family, given their role in upholding the position of The Bloodline in WWE. However, Haku and his sons are not related to the family as they are Tongan and the Anoa’i family is Samoan. Nonetheless, Haku was a huge support to Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson when he began his wrestling career, and The Rock considers Haku to be his dear uncle.
