About Utah Jazz Depth Chart
The Utah Jazz are looking to compete at a high level in the tough Western Conference during the 2023-24 NBA season. The Jazz depth chart is centered around All-Star forward Lauri Markkanen and rising star guard Collin Sexton forming a dynamic scoring duo.
The Utah Jazz depth chart is anchored by Markkanen who returns healthy after missing several games with a hamstring injury. When at full strength, he is a versatile 6'11" forward who can score from anywhere on the court. Sexton took a big leap last year and gives the Jazz an explosive scorer in the backcourt to pair with Markkanen.
The Jazz' "Big Three" is rounded out by the veteran presence of power forward John Collins. The former Atlanta Hawk provides leadership, rebounding and interior defense alongside the two younger stars. Rookie forward Taylor Hendricks will also see major minutes, bringing a 6'9" frame, paint presence and defensive activity.
In the backcourt, prized rookie Keyonte George takes over at point guard. George is a gifted scorer for the team in the paint. He is a playmaker tasked with running the team's offense. He has excellent skills and finishes well around the rim.
The bench unit is headed by Jordan Clarkson, the 2020-21 Sixth Man of the Year. Clarkson's scoring punch and ability to play multiple guard spots are pivotal. Backup center Walker Kessler replaces Collins as a rim protector and lob threat. Veteran guard Kris Dunn provides defense and playmaking in reserve ball-handling minutes.
Micah Potter gives the Jazz frontcourt depth as a power forward off the bench. But the potential X-factor is sharpshooter Talen Horton-Tucker, whose elite three-point shooting ability spaces the floor.
While not the most formidable roster top-to-bottom, the Jazz are constructed around a potentially prolific Markkanen-Sexton scoring tandem. If key supporting players like Collins, George and Clarkson have big seasons, Utah could emerge as a tough out in the West.
