Kadarius Toney is an American professional football player for the NFL team, Kansas City Chiefs. He was born in Mobile, Alabama, United States on January 27, 1999. He plays the position of wide receiver.

Toney’s football career kicked off in high school when he played as a quarterback for Blount High School. As a good passer and rusher, Toney was considered to be a dual-threat quarterback. As a result, he was considered to be among the more versatile quarterbacks in high school. Aside from the position of a quarterback, Toney was adept at playing as a wide receiver and returner. At the end of high school, Toney had a win-loss record of 20 wins to 5 losses.

Coming out of high school as a three-star recruit, Toney committed to play collegiate football at the University of Florida after receiving offers from many programs. At college, Tomney’s role was again not confined to one position. He functioned as a versatile offensive force with the ability to play as a quarterback, wide receiver, running back and even be a part of special teams. However, even as a reserve, Toney’s speed, agility, route running and his flair for creating highlights made him a delight to watch on the football field. His versatility and performances earned him recognition as an All-SEC player and Second-Team All-American. Furthermore, Toney was also in contention for the prestigious Paul Hornung Award.

What Team Is Kadarius Toney On?

Kadarius Toney was drafted in 2021 as the 20th overall pick in the first round of the NFL draft. The team that drafted the star college football receiver was the New York Giants. As a rookie, Toney’s career started off slow. He started to break out towards the middle of his first season in the NFL. He broke Odell Beckham Jr.’s franchise record for most receptions by a rookie in a single game. Toney signed a 4-year deal worth around $13 million.

Toney was traded in the middle of the 2022 season to the Kansas City Chiefs. He was instrumental in the Chiefs’ victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl 57 where he scored a touchdown and set a record for recording a 65-yard punt return in the Super Bowl. However, he did not play in the 2023 season playoffs.

The 2024-25 season presents an opportunity to Toney to continue his success in the NFL. While he has started to see success with the Chiefs, he has a lot more to give the game and has room for growth.
