
Kenny Pickett is an American football quarterback for the Cleveland Browns as of March 2025. The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Pickett as the 20th overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. In March 2025, the Philadelphia Eagles traded Kenny Pickett to the Browns for a fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft for Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
In prior two seasons with the Steelers, Pickett compiled a record of 14-10 as a starter while completing 446 passes for 4,474 passing yards and 13 touchdowns in 24 games. In his one season with the Eagles, he played five games, recorded 291 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, with a passer rating of 86.5. He was also the 2022 ACC Athlete of the Year. Pickett attended Ocean Township High School, where, in the 2017 graduating class, he was ranked as the 21st-best prospect in the state by ESPN. Kenny Pickett attended the University of Pittsburgh from 2017 to 2021. Asbury Park Press reported that during his high school years, he had committed to Temple, though that changed later. In 2021, he was awarded the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, ACC Player of the Year, and ACC Offensive Player of the Year. In the same year, he was also named for the ACC and All-American first team.
Using his last year of eligibility, Pickett became one of the best players in the country. He broke the school record for both career and single-season yards and touchdowns with 4,319 yards and 42 touchdowns. He was also the Heisman Trophy finalist, finishing third.
From 2017 to 2021 with the Pittsburgh Panthers, Pickett has played in a total of 52 games, starting 49 of them, for a record of 32-17. He completed 1,045 passes and 1,674 carries for 12,303 passing yards and 81 touchdowns, along with 417 rushing carries for 801 yards and 20 touchdowns.
