Before their Monday night victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it was rumored that the Kansas City Chiefs were to pursue New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore.

This came shortly after Chiefs cornerback Jaylen Watson suffered a broken fibula and tibia against the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 20.

While the Saints have reportedly gotten multiple calls about Lattimore's availability, NFL.com senior columnist Jeffri Chadiha tweeted Tuesday morning that a Chiefs trade for the four-time Pro Bowler is unlikely.

Chadiha wrote:

"The Chiefs trading for Saints' Marshon Lattimore is unlikely unless things heat up. Chiefs source said team called about multiple corners after Jaylen Watson injury but hasn’t heard back from anyone in over a week. Deal would have to make sense because of tight budget in KC."

While Chadiha reported that the Chiefs are unlikely to trade for Lattimore, NFL insider Josina Anderson said that Lattimore's market is "warming up" with multiple teams involved.

While there's a chance that Lattimore will be traded, it likely won't be to Kansas City. The Chiefs don't have the cap space either and would likely have to rework Lattimore, as well as other players' deals, to make room to acquire the cornerback.

It wouldn't be a surprise to see the Kansas City Chiefs pull off a trade on Tuesday. Kansas City has been active in the trade market and has made two in-season trades this season.

The Chiefs acquired wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans for a fifth-round pick that could become a fourth-round pick. He made his debut last week with the Chiefs, logging three receptions for 29 yards.

Hopkins had a breakout game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, hauling in eight catches on nine targets for 86 yards and two touchdowns.

Hopkins has been one of the best WRs in the NFL for some time. While he is on the older side at 32, having a quarterback like Patrick Mahomes could see him replicate some of the success he had early in his career.

The Chiefs traded for Hopkins as they suffered multiple injuries at the WR position this season, including to Marquise Brown and Rashee Rice.

The Chiefs also acquired edge rusher Josh Uche from the New England Patriots to help out their pass-rush rotation.
