Born on May 25, 2000, in Pembroke Pines, Florida, Castleton is an American professional basketball player who plays for the LA Lakers. After going undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft, Castleton signed a two-way contract with the Lakers.
The 6-foot-11 center developed his basketball skills at Father Lopez Catholic in Daytona, Florida. In his senior season, he averaged 24.5 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 5.6 blocks per game, earning him a finalist spot for Florida's Mr. Basketball Award and the Class 7A Player of the Year.
As a four-star recruit out of high school, Castleton committed to play college ball at University of Michigan. After two seasons with the Wolverines, he decided to join the NCAA transfer portal, and joined University of Florida. Due to the pandemic, he played three seasons at Florida.
In his final season with the Gators, Castleton averaged 16.0 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game and his 78 blocked shots rank as the third-highest single-season total in UF history. As a result, he was named on the first-team All-SEC and SEC All-Defensive Team.
