Born October 8, 1995, Grayson James Allen is an American shooting guard for the Phoenix Suns in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born in Jacksonville, Florida, U.S., Allen attended Providence School in Jacksonville. He was named McDonald's All-American in high school and won a state championship with them too. He also won the McDonald's All-American Slam Dunk Contest.
For college, Allen committed to Duke and was touted as one of their best players at the time, helping the team win the NCAA championship in 2015. He finished his Duke career with 1,996 points, ranking 12th on the Blue Devils' career scoring list. Allen earned All-ACC Academic honors four times and All-America and Academic All-America honors in 2016 during his time at Duke. In four seasons in college, Allen averaged 14.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in 142 games.
On June 21, 2018, Allen was selected by the Utah Jazz 21st overall in the 2018 NBA Draft. He made his NBA debut on October 22, against the Memphis Grizzlies.
