Kai Jones, a basketball center-forward for the Los Angeles Clippers and their NBA G affiliate San Diego Clippers, through a two-way contract, signed in October 2024. The Bahamian professional was originally drafted by the New York Knicks as the 19th pick in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft. However, he then only traded to the Charlotte Hornets. Moving on, he was waived by the Hornets in October 2023 under controversial circumstances and was signed by the Philadelphia 76ers in March 2024. He signed a 10-day contract and played for the 76ers NBA G affiliate, Delaware Blue Coats. In April, he signed with the Clippers. In his two seasons in the NBA with the Hornets, he played in 67 games, averaging 2.7 points, 0.3 assists and 2.0 rebounds.

Jones came to the United States at the age of 11 after being born in Nassau, Bahamas. He went back to his homeland before high school in the hopes of pursuing a long-jumping career. He began playing organized basketball at the age of 15. He went to Orlando Christian Prep and joined the Brewster Academy for his senior year. Graduating as a four-star recruit, he enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin in 2019. In his sophomore year, he was named the Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year. After which, he declared for the NBA Draft. In his two seasons of college, he played in 53 games, starting 14, averaging 6.2 points, 0.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds.
