Moussa Diabate is a French professional basketball player who as of October 2024, plays for the Charlotte Hornets. Standing at 6 feet 9 inches, Diabate plays as a center. He was born in Paris to Malian and Guinean parents and started playing basketball at age 12 with Sporting Club Maccabi de Paris. He then moved to the United States in eighth grade to join Montverde Academy’s middle school program in Florida. Diabate played for several top basketball high school programs in Florida, including Florida Prep Academy in Melbourne, Florida, DME Academy in Dayton Beach, Florida, and IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Diabaté also played for the French national team at the 2018 FIBA U16 European Championship in Serbia, helping France to a fourth-place finish. The following year in 2019, Diabaté competed at the FIBA U18 European Championship in Greece, averaging 13.1 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks, helping France achieve the fifth-place finish.

After high school, Diabaté played one season of college basketball at the University of Michigan (2021–2022). He declared for the 2022 NBA Draft, where the Los Angeles Clippers selected him with the 43rd overall pick in the second round. From 2022 to 2024, Diabate has spent two seasons with the LA Clippers, while also playing for their G League affiliate, the Ontario Clippers. In 2024, Diabaté signed with the Charlotte Hornets, where he continues his NBA career.
