Spencer Dinwiddie was drafted 38th overall by the Detroit Pistons in the 2014 NBA Draft. Since then, he has played for the Washington Wizards, Dallas Mavericks and currently the Brooklyn Nets.

In his initial two seasons with Detroit, Dinwiddie played 46 games, averaging 4.4 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 13.3 minutes on the floor.

Dinwiddie first landed in Brooklyn and signed a three-year $3 million deal with the Nets in the 2016/17 season. The Brooklyn Nets style suited Dinwiddie better and he got more minutes. In December 2018, Dinwiddie signed a three-year $34.4 million contract extension with the Brooklyn Nets which included a final-year player option.

In June of 2021, Dinwiddie declined a $12.3 million player option and signed his current $54 million deal with the Nets in August 2021.
